Continuous Tense
Definition :
A tense that used to tell about ongoing action in the past.
1. Verbal form, the formula are : (+) Subject + were/ was+ Verb ing + Object + Time Signal(TS)
Example : I was doing the homework last night
(-) Subject +were not (weren’t ) /was not (wasn’t) +Verb ing + Object + TS
Example : they weren’t doing the homework last night
(?) Was/ were + Subject+verb ing+ Time signal?
Example : were you doing your homework last night?
(-?) wasn’t/ weren’t + Subject+ verb ing + Time Signal?
Example : Weren’t we doing the homework last night?
2. Nominal Form, the formula are: (+) Subject + was/ were+ (Adjective/Noun/Adverb+Prep (ANAP)+TS
