Simple Past Tense.




Definition : A tense that used to tell about the finished job or completed before now and the duration is not important.
It is divided into two kinds:
1. Verbal form, the formula are      : (+) Subject + Verb2 + Object + Time Signal(TS)
                                                          Example : I Did the homework yesterday
                                                         (-) Subject +did not (didn't) Verb1 + Object + TS
                                                         Example : I didn't do the homework yesterday
                                                         (?) Did+ Subject+verb1+ Time signal?
                                                         Example : Did i do the homework yesterday?
                                                        (-?) Didn't+ Subject+ verb1 + Time Signal?
                                                        Example : Didn't I do the homework yesterday?

 2. Nominal Form, the formula are: (+) Subject + was/ were+ (Adjective/Noun/Adverb+Prep (ANAP)+TS
                                                         I was clever before now. (Adjective)
                                                         we were a students last year ( Noun)
                                                         They Were here a week ago    (Adverb)
                                                         He was on the river last day   (preposition)
                                                        (-) Subject + Was not (wasn't) / were not (weren't) +ANAP+TS
                                                        
                                                          I was not  clever before now. (Adjective)
                                                         we were not a students last year ( Noun)
                                                         They Were not  here a week ago    (Adverb)
                                                         He was not on the river last day   (preposition)
                                                        (?) Was/ Were/ + Subject + ANAP + TS?
                                                        Was I clever before now.? (Adjective)
                                                         Were We a students last year? ( Noun)
                                                         Were they here a week ago  ?  (Adverb)
                                                         Was he  on the river last day ?  (preposition)

                                                      (-?) Wasn't/ Weren't+ Subject+ ANAP+TS? 
                                                     
                                                        Wasn't I clever before now.? (Adjective)
                                                        Weren't We a students last year? ( Noun)
                                                         Weren't they  here a week ago  ?  (Adverb)

Perlunya Menyewa Sepeda Onthel di Kampung Inggris

Sepeda Onthel di Indonesia sudah mulai ditinggalkan. Tapi hal ini tidak berlaku di Kampung Inggris. Ribuan sepeda onthel berada di pelbagai sudut kampung Inggris. Past Continuous Tense.

Functions of the Past continuous The past continuous describes actions or events in a time before now , which began in the past and is still going on at the time of speaking. In other words, it expresses an unfinished or incomplete action in the past. It is used: Often, to describe the background in a story written in the past tense, e.g. "The sun was shining and the birds were singing as the elephant came out of the jungle.
